Erythrocytes, commonly known as red blood cells, are responsible for transporting oxygen throughout the body.

Low erythrocyte levels may indicate anemia, although overhydration can also affect these values. It’s important to note that the cell count alone is not enough to diagnose or fully understand anemia.
